Zip Servers and Future Hosting both use servers located in Softlayers data centers and Softlayer has proven to be one of the most reliable web hosts known to man. The planet deserves a mention here also simply because they have been around a very long time and they too, have great server uptime. (theplanet.com)
3fn.net simply put, has outstanding support and excellent prices which is why they made it to number three spot on our hosting top list. This website is currently hosted with 3fn right now and we currently have not had any issues at all.
Godaddy update
Godaddy made it on our list because of the low cost shared hosting bundled with the low cost of domains. Unfortunately telephone support as of the time of this writing (July 30th, 2008) is still not toll free though. Should you decide to call them, the support isn’t too bad. The only reason why they made it on this top list is because they run so many great coupon codes and special offers all year round.
It's worth noting that most of Godaddy's systems are automated and whenever you make changes you will be put into a queue for processing. This means that if you create an ftp account or mySQL database, expect to wait up to 15 minutes before it appears in your account. However, most of the time the wait time is about three or four minutes which is fine for most people.
