Black cats
The biggest black cat myth is that they bring bad luck if you’re cross their path. This page is here to give you tons of information on black cats and their myths.
Black cats are normal
Whoever told you that black cat brings bad luck is crazy superstitious. The original superstition goes something like this anyways. If your walking down the street at night on Halloween, don’t cross the path of a black cat or it’s bad luck for the night. As in not good candy you’ll receive from homes.
At the top of the list it’s bad
Your cat goes to the bathroom in the wrong spot in your house so you should simply resolve this by rubbing your cat’s face in his urine.
The above myth is cruelty to your animal and since the cat doesn’t know why you did it, it’s also not a very good solution. Please do not do this to your animal, instead see the below list of things you can try.
- Cats are territory so if you have two cats that will not share, you may have to buy two cat litter boxes to solve the problem.
- Some cats will not use a tray if it has a cover on the tray, get a regular tray.
- Another reason cats do not use their tray because you placed it in a scary place such as underneath the basement stairway and they don’t feel comfortable using the tray.
Second place is bad
Cats always land on their feet so go ahead and chuck them around, they don’t mind.
The above myth is not true. Cats usually land on their feet because they are good at it and most of the time when dropped from a few feet, they can do it. However, it’s not recommended that you drop your cat just to test this. You can hurt your cats internal organs if he or she lands on his side or backside.
Never, under any circumstances try to drop your cat from higher than 3 feet off the ground. You can seriously injure your cat and possibly cause fatality.
Third place is cruelty
Get your cat declawed so he or she doesn’t scratch up your furniture.
Ok the above cat myth isn’t really a myth but it makes our top list because we think it deserves to be there. It’s animal cruelty, if you don’t believe us, consider the following things that happen during and after this procedure is done.
- Excruciatingly painful procedure.
- Most cats don’t recover from this experience.
- Cat behavior changes drastically afterwards.
- Cat will usually always be scared and sneak around.
- Cats walk on their toes so declawing them only causes pain for them to walk on the toes.
If you are worried about your cat scratching up your furniture, please try trimming your cat’s claws or you can use a product called “Soft Paws” and that may help. Some funny cats like to scratch the carpet really fast. If you happen to have one of these cats, video tape it and post it on Youtube please.
